Inspiration
I find inspiration in many things. Art, photography, comics movies, games, nature, people, and stories. Here are resources of my inspiration.
T.V.
- Steven Universe (2013- )
Not only do I love the story, but I love the colors used in the show. The visuals are exquisite and every scene is easy to read due to the carefully chosen palettes.
- Bee and Puppycat (2013- )
I also love the colors in this web-series! Not only that, but the story is creative and touching beyond its silly surface.
Webcomic
- Sarah's Scribbles by Sarah Andersen
She uses a simple four-panel format to create witty comics that are funny and relatable. Her art style is recognizable and adds to the feel of the comic.
- Fail by Error by Min
I love the style of this comic. The faces and bodies they draw are expressive and that draws more comedy to the comic.
- Kings Folly by Whispwill
The story and world of this comic are unique and attractive. There is so much detail that ties this world together and brings it to life, not to mention the artwork and characters.
- Countdown to Countdown by Vel
I love this painterly digital style. It's something I aspire towards. The story is an apocalyptic thriller with beautiful art and well-crafted characters that draws me in.
- Jellyfish Adventures by J4LLY

Illustrators
- kelpls Kel
This artist is useful and friendly with plenty of tutorials on their site. Their style draws my eye with the mixture of lines and rendering.
- rhymewithrachel Rachel Matile
I am greatly inspired by her illustrative art style. The vignettes and small comics she draws are charming and funny.
- annaxiin Anna Pan
Another artist whose style I am really drawn to. Her characters are fascinating and always have me wanting more.
E-Textiles
I've been a longtime of Pokemon, so this project caught my eye! It's very neat and modernizes Pokemon by relating to the AR verion of the game: Pokemon GO. This project plays into the real-life aspect of the game by allowing players to walk around playing Pokemon GO while wearing light-up badges of their chosen team.
This one is so neat! It gives me a great idea for a Christmas gift for my mom this year. It's versatile and not very complicated, so it's also a great craft to make in a group with friends at a party.
This one immediately drew me in because I have a dog and I love dog sweaters and costumes. I like this project because it can be versatile--it doesn't have to be a shark with the Jaws theme.
The title of this one caught my attention: Fabric Origami. It's a clever way to conceal an e-textile, since they can potentially be bulky or look look weird with wires sticking everywhere. I wonder what other applications this could have outside of a buzzer for coworkers.
I am drawn to this one because I love space, which includes constellations. Also as someone who's into astrology, the LED zodiac constellations piqued my interest. If I were to do a project like this, I might choose my favorite constellations or make a galaxy with hoop embroidery and LEDs.

"Sticky Hands" is a tai chi technique that involves limply keeping in contact with the opponent to feel and anticipate their moves. One of my original characters, Jack, uses this method in tandem with his ability to suck the energy out of another person through contact.

I didn't chose this for the lore necessarily, though Destiny lore is vast, but for the visual style. It's a mixture of 2D art, parallax, and small animations. I brought this to my Capstone group and we decided to emulate this style for the cutscenes in our video game.

I just started Bloodborne and this is my first Dark Souls-like game ever. It's safe to say that I'm still at the bottom of the learning curve. This video helps inspire me to be creative in how I fight so I may learn and progress in the game.

As part of the design of my Capstone video game, I remembered how Ubisoft animates their logos at the beginning of their games. I used this as light reference for a logo concept for our game.

This YouTube channel does amazing work recreating movie and video game weapons that are functional. It's amazing to see how they bring fictional weapons to life using real-life techniques. This series follows the process from concept to final product.

I'm always down to learn new music and I think intricate melodies on the ukulele are amazing. I found this by looking for instrumental songs (so the ukulele version wouldn't just include strumming chords, but plucking notes in succession.)

Since I'm planning on an embroidery project, I figured I needed some help starting out. This series helps me visually with audio commentary.

Psicobloc is an extreme version of bouldering. It's helpful to my own climbing practice to view professional climbers climb difficult routes so that I may observe and evolve in my own climbing.

This is a local photographer whom I admire. This video features her process on a shoot with one of my friends.

A few stretches for those who may be prone to arthritis or injuries in the hands/arms/wrists. In order to stay creative with my artwork, I've gotta keep my wrists in top shape.
